Google have launched a new way to display search results on the iPad.
Being a key user of mobile browsing, I am happy to say that the new design is spot on. I no longer feel the need to squint while navigating through my search results. The page is clean tidy and uses white space in an effective way. After reading an article on webdesigntuts+, I believe that google have took the concept of white space and used it in a very effective way.
Drop down tabs are also used efficiently, so that the search results are the main focus and not all of the other options that you would find on your desktop computer. With a fast repsonse without lag, changing your search to a image or video or customising your search results is done just as quick, as if they were already on display.
However, are google still in development with redesigning the SR? As they have missed out their recent new family member google+1. Also the google adwords, which are normally displayed on the right, are also missing? There are ads top and bottom of the SR but no ads being displayed on the right!
Have you got an iPad, what do you think of the new way google is displaying there search results?
